Dear Cordelia

I am writing to inform you that I am very sorry and disappointed with my decision to rid you of your land. Now that Regan and Goneril have teamed up and overthrown me it is only now I have realized  that I was foolish in not giving the biggest land to my dearest most true daughter.These two shameful daughters used word of deceit to trick me. I have been harebrained to think these evil daughters of mine really loved me but I guess I let the love and power go to my head and a you can see that didn’t turn out for the best now did it dear daughter of mine. All I want I is my land and my power back. But definitely more important than any of those things is that I love my daughter.

I have been hanging on to the edge of being a normal person and trying not to dismount myself into madness. The only reason I gave Goneril and Regan my land is because I wanted someone to tell me that they love me no matter what. From the moment that you said Nothing my lord I then should have known that you love me more.
